UWI Conference and Exhibition
In commemoration of the 50th independence anniversary of Trinidad and Tobago, the high commission of India in Trinidad and Tobago in collaboration with the University of the West Indies hosted a conference-cum-exhibition on 50 years of India and T&T relations.
The theme of the conference “Inheritance, Innovation and Continuity” focused on the past, present and future of relations between India and Trinidad relative to trade,Tourism, Information Technology, Arts and Culture and much more.
House of Jaipur, the leading Indian Fashion house in Trinidad and Tobago was invited by the Indian High Commission to participate in this conference-cum-exhibition and successfully demonstrated how Indian Fashion and style has evolved from Indenture-ship in the 1800's to the glamour and glitz that surrounds it today. With the help of Brian McFarlane and McFarlane Design Studios, House of Jaipur's booth at the conference was definitely the showstopper. Their interpretation of Eastern style and décor was like none other and it clearly portrayed the fusion and strength of Indo-Trinidadian relations.
